Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Manchester - Hybrid

Salary: Competitive salary + Up to 12% Pension, Health Care, and other Flexible benefits listed below

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Role Purpose: To provide leadership to the General Ledger Team including ownership of the account’s preparation process for management, group and statutory reporting. Taking the lead on VAT and Corporation Tax reporting and all Finance compliance tasks. Management and development of General Ledger team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance & Governance

1. Improve and test the I&F Finance internal control environment, including designing and implementing robust internal controls and audit procedures across the SSC.
2. Identify control gaps and implement remediation actions to strengthen compliance.
3. Act as a key point of contact for tax advisors, external auditors, internal auditors, BV Group Finance, and HMRC.
4. Ensure timely preparation of audit deliverables and act as the main contact during internal and external audits.
5. Lead VAT return preparation and EC sales submissions.
6. Manage preparation and filing of UK statutory accounts.
7. Lead the corporation tax return preparation process.

General Ledger Management
8. Lead month-end reporting for the GL team ensuring accurate and timely completion.
9. Own the accounts preparation process for management, group, and statutory reporting.
10. Ensure accurate month-end close processes including balance sheet reviews.
11. Manage quarterly IFRS/UK GAAP compliant balance sheet preparation.
12. Support quarterly group reporting within Magnitude.
13. Oversee working capital sign-offs and KPI deck production.

Reporting & Performance Management
14. Produce monthly working capital KPI packs for the finance team.
15. Ensure high-quality balance sheet output with clear commentary.
16. Support timely delivery of group reporting bundles and statutory deliverables.
17. Improve reporting accuracy through continuous improvement initiatives.

Process & Systems Optimisation
18. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.
19. Support audit and compliance process enhancements.
20. Support operational efficiency and sustainable growth initiatives.
21. Ensure consistent and high-quality accounting process execution.

Leadership & People Development
22. Lead and develop the General Ledger team.
23. Support business projects requiring GL / financial control expertise.
24. Drive high performance and continuous improvement.

Ad Hoc & Strategic Support
25. Support the Head of Finance with financial control or compliance projects.
26. Act as a bank signatory in line with finance policy.
27. Support back-office improvement initiatives.

Experience & Skills Required

28. Proven financial management experience
29. Experience with process automation and continuous improvement methodologies
30. Knowledge of working capital optimisation and cash management
31. Familiarity with FLEX processes or similar governance frameworks
32. Experience supporting external and internal audit functions
33. Experience of working within a large international group
34. Experience of delivering change and transformation programmes within a shared service centre environment.
35. Leadership/development of a finance team
36. Effective communicator and influencer, both verbal and written, to peers, business partners and senior managers

Qualifications Required:

37. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
