Role: Principal Well (Completions) Engineer

The Wells (Completions) Engineer is responsible for the planning design work related to the planning and operational delivery of wells on platforms/subsea installations. The Engineer will be working in a multidisciplinary team with responsibility for planning completion activities. The Engineer is responsible for developing and delivering completion products in accordance with relevant strategies, plans, programs, time, cost and in compliance with applicable guidelines and work processes. The Engineer shall deliver simplification, standardisation, and industrialization in context and according to company strategies through proactive risk understanding and mitigation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver well planning and execution activities.
• Deliver risk assessments in well planning and execution.
• Deliver engineering feasibility and improvement projects to ensure department objectives are met.
• Prepare well concept selection reports and compile well programmes.
• Engineering design using Landmark software suite.
• Develop and review of Well Barrier Schematics.
• Evaluate offset data and implement lessons learned.
• Evaluate and specify well equipment.
• Prepare time and cost estimates.
• Participate in subsurface meetings and discussions during well planning and execution.
• Deliver Well Permits and Notifications.
• Develop and update well and completion drawings
• Perform detailed studies into new technologies, well design and optimisation projects.
• Plan performance improvement workshops.
• Prepare Detailed Operational Procedures for use at the rig site.
• Lead management of change, input to dispensations and communications with the relevant authorities.
• Develop and update well and completion drawings with as run description of the well equipment.
• Challenge the rest of the group to ensure that the work is done cost-effectively and that future well operations can be run in a simple and cost-effective way.
• Delivery of results and engineering tasks through others within a well-defined framework.
• Participation in operational duty support rota’s if required.
• Identify opportunities to contribute to the commercial success of the project and are responsible for identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Delivery of complex engineering projects with minimal support and guidance.
• Develop the competency of the team in own area(s) of expertise.
Qualifications
• Experience 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including experience with an Oil and Gas Operator.
• Educated to degree level, professional experience can compensate for lack of formal qualifications.
• Knowledge and experience with UK regulations and well integrity requirements. • Solid knowledge in Wells (Completion) engineering.
• Solid operational Wells (Completion) engineering experience.
• Broad knowledge and experience of drilling engineering planning and operations is desirable.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently/unsupervised and in collaboration with others, as required to achieve agreed objectives.
• Understanding of field development activities and QA/QC processes.
• Good English writing and oral skills.
• Ability to live by “I am safety” expectations.
• Adhere to our client's Safety Standard.
