Pay and Hours
Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you prefer fewer hours (minimum 12), we have opportunities for this too.
The table shows the preferred availability times. We will schedule your hours within these times, with 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. We support flexibility; if your availability closely matches but not exactly the advertised times, we’d still love to hear from you. Read more.
Customer Service and Responsibilities
* Help serve our shoppers better every day with passion and pride.
* Be knowledgeable about products and services in the store.
* Assist in service, picking, and replenishment areas as needed.
* Follow training to work safely and effectively, providing excellent service.
* Make customer-focused decisions and meet store routines to enhance service and sales.
* Participate in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understand store performance, contribute to driving service, sales, and reducing waste.
* Handle products carefully to maintain quality.
* Live our values, make everyone feel welcome, and adhere to policies.
* Occasionally accept deliveries into the store.
Requirements
* Passion for delivering great service with a friendly attitude.
* Ability to build rapport with customers.
* Initiative and decision-making skills for customer benefit.
* Teamwork and good communication.
* Reliable, well-presented, and punctual.
