*Job Overview*
We are seeking a part-time Support Worker or Practitioner to join our Play Work team in the after-school care at Northmuir OOSC- Northmuir Primary School- Kirriemuir, Angus. The ideal candidate would have previous experience in areas such as OOSC, ELC, Youth work or other childcare facilities, although adult / social care will also be accepted. Full training can be given to those new to the role. May suit as a second job and some flexibility can be discussed.
*Responsibilities*
Supervising and engaging with Primary School children within an After School Club, 15 hours a week are available, between 3pm to 6pm term time, Monday to Friday.
You must be willing to work in all our sites in the event of staffing absence.
In brief- you will:
· Follow the lead and direction of the Peripatetic Manager- being responsible for areas of your own in their absence.
· Lead, organise, supervise and engage in learning and play experiences with our children.
· Arrange and co-ordinate the safe transportation of children from school to the site (if applicable).
· Organise and supervise healthy snacks
· Liaise with parents and carers daily- sharing children's progress and interests.
· Contribute to keeping local policies, procedures and records up to date and in-line with the groups quality assurance processes.
· Engage with other professionals from the company network as required.
· Implement safeguarding procedures for children and be a designated child protection officer and first aider.
*Qualifications*
You will ideally hold a qualification in Childcare, Playwork or Children and Young People at SVQ level 2 (Support worker) or 3 (practitioner), HNC or equivalent or be willing to undertake a relevant qualification.
You must be a child centred person with a passion for play and high-quality opportunities.
Rate of pay will reflect qualifications and experience.
You will be subject to a PVG disclosure check and you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment. All appointments come with a 6 month probationary period.
