Role Overview This role will work closely with our Head of Compliance, Risk and Assurance ensuring the firm adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This will be done through a structured Compliance Monitoring Programme by conducting compliance testing, including thematic and desk-based reviews, while providing the business with insights and recommendations to improve regulatory compliance. You will also be responsible for developing and, enhancing our customer outcomes testing strategy. Maintaining an understanding of regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty and other key FCA standards, and how they apply across the business. Job Details The day-to-day responsibilities of the role will be varied but will include: Delivering compliance monitoring activity in line with the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan, covering regulatory & policy adherence, third-party administrators, and consumer outcomes. Managing ad-hoc deep dive reviews and Compliance & Risk Opinions, ensuring timely follow-up on agreed actions with business stakeholders. Managing the Customer Outcomes Testing (COT) programme by understanding customer journeys. Using risk-based approaches to test different customer types (e.g. vulnerable customers) and processes. Linking the analysis from testing directly to the four Consumer Duty outcomes. Providing reports raising issues and actions. Using findings to develop and mentor the business, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and excellence. Informing senior stakeholders results via formalised reporting to SLT, Management Committees and Board meetings, informing of improvement opportunities, actionable feedback and recommendations. Enhancing and refining the COT testing methodology, adapting best practices and innovating approaches Essential Skills / Experience: We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in a compliance, monitoring or assurance role. You will therefore have developed a deep understanding of the regulatory environment that our loans team work within. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong set of relationship management skills, as much of your work will take place with some of our senior most stakeholders. As a result, you will also be a strong communicator in both written and verbal scenarios. While not essential, we would also like to see some previous experience working in customer outcomes testing as this forms a large part of your eventual remit.
