Maintenance Engineer
I'm delighted to be recruiting for my Huddersfield based Client for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, hands-on engineer with strong mechanical maintenance skills to work within a busy manufacturing/production environment.
The ideal candidate will be apprentice trained and possess strong all-round engineering skills including fitting, turning, milling, and welding, with a minimum of five years' experience in a maintenance engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Report directly to the Maintenance Manager
2. Carry out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities
3. Work collaboratively with colleagues to prioritise maintenance resources effectively
4. Assist with major breakdowns and minimise plant downtime
5. Provide daily shift reports
6. Maintain cleanliness of plant machinery and surrounding work areas
7. Perform testing and inspection of mechanical systems in accordance with industry standards
8. Implement mechanical maintenance and corrective works in line with maintenance instructions and site procedures
9. Undertake defect surveys on plant and systems and provide reports to engineering management
10. Support other departments within the business when required
