Your New RoleAs a Design Engineer, you will join an experienced and collaborative engineering team, playing a key role in the design and development of machinery from concept through to production. You will be responsible for delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software
2. Designingponents and assemblies for screening and material handling equipment
3. Supporting product development from initial concept through to manufacture
4. Liaising with production, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility
5. Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis
6. Driving continuous improvement initiatives within product design
7. Assisting with testing, validation, and troubleshooting
8. Ensuring designsply with relevant standards and health & safety requirements
What You’ll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you should have:
9. A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
10. Proven experience in a design engineering role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
11. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software ( SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
12. Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or machinery design
13. Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
15. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
16. Excellentmunication skills
Desirable:
17. Experience within recycling, quarrying, or material handling sectors
18. Knowledge of hydraulic systems or mobile machinery
19. Familiarity with design for manufacture (DFM) and lean principles
