Role Title: Academic Skills Advisor
Location: Llysfasi
Contract Type: Permanent - Term Time (22 hours per week, over 36 weeks of the year) (0.4871 FTE)
Salary: £25,437 - £26,077 (Pro-rata basis)
Coleg Cambria are looking for an Academic Skills Advisor to provide frontline support for learners in a welcoming library environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join Coleg Cambria enabling learners to progress and achieve. Working within the Library & Academic Skills department you will advise customers with enquiries in a professional manner and assist in maintaining an effective library environment including maintaining library stock and resources. You will provide face to face support and assist learners with curriculum and digital content. You will have an understanding of the barriers learners may face and have excellent communication skills, promoting information sources to groups and through 1:1’s. You will also contribute to wider service objectives including learner well-being and inclusion.
You will liaise closely with the Academic Skills Coordinator and other key staff working as part of a team, be willing to support activities within the library environment and participate in college/site activities. You will have good IT skills and you must be comfortable utilising technologies and assisting others to develop their own digital competencies. You will enjoy working and supporting a diverse range of learners and be comfortable with learners of all abilities.

Essential Requirements
● Qualified to level 2 or above with a good level of literacy and numeracy skills.
● Experience of working in a customer facing role in education or similar.
● Experience of using technology in a support function.
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
