We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Multi-Property Finance Assistant to join our team across Courtyard Aberdeen and Residence Inn Aberdeen, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of both hotels.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build or develop their finance career within a globally recognised hotel brand, in a role that touches every corner of the business across two fantastic properties.
About the Role
As Multi-Property Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Multi-Property Finance Manager to ensure both hotels' financial records are accurate, up to date, and fully compliant with Marriott's standards and audit requirements. From managing accounts receivable and chasing invoices to supporting cashiering and period-end processes, you will play an essential role in keeping the finances of both properties in excellent order. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do
Accounts Receivable and Sales Ledger
1. Complete all direct billing accurately and ensure correct supporting documentation is attached
2. Apply payments in a timely and accurate manner and maintain clear records of all client communications
3. Chase outstanding invoices and ensure prompt payment in line with agreed payment terms
4. Liaise with clients professionally to answer queries and resolve any billing issues
Financial Reporting and Records
5. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding
6. Classify, record, and summarise numerical and financial data using journals, ledgers, and property software
7. Maintain accurate electronic spreadsheets for financial and accounting data across both properties
8. Prepare, maintain, and distribute financial, accounting, auditing, and payroll reports and tables
9. Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified
10. Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements in line with company procedures
Revenue Controls
11. Check all credit card refunds and supporting documentation
12. Ensure all revenue adjustments are posted accurately and with appropriate supporting evidence
13. Complete daily reconciliations and report any unusual or suspicious activity to the Finance Manager promptly
General Cashiering
14. Maintain the security of all cash within your control at all times
15. Manage surprise float checks in line with company standards and keep accurate records of outcomes
16. Manage the finance query inbox, responding professionally within the designated timeframe
17. Report any cash shortages to the Finance Manager immediately
What We're Looking For
18. At least one year of finance, accounting, or administration experience
19. Intermediate Excel skills and confident use of Microsoft Office programmes
20. Experience with Opera and Micros is preferred but not essential
21. A methodical, accurate approach and strong attention to detail
22. Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
23. A flexible, team-first attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
24. Hotel operations experience is a bonus
