We’re looking for a Trading Desk Executive to join our growing Marketplace Commercial team. In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the commercial gatekeeper — assessing pricing requests, analysing margin implications, and making decisive, data-driven recommendations that balance competitiveness with profitability.
The impact you’ll have:
You’ll sit at the heart of commercial decision-making — helping the business win profitable work, maintain strong supplier relationships, and protect margins across every deal. Your insight and judgement will shape how we trade smarter, faster, and more effectively.
A typical day:
 * Review pricing requests from Order Takers and Specialist Leads, assessing competitiveness and profitability
 * Evaluate commercial rationale — customer value, volume, and strategic importance
 * Make quick, confident decisions to approve, reject, or adjust pricing
 * Analyse customer pricing history and forecast impact on overall margin
 * Escalate high-value or strategic opportunities with data-backed recommendations
 * Balance the need to win business with the importance of protecting margin
 * Assess margin implications of pricing adjustments and deal structures
 * Identify margin improvement opportunities through supplier negotiation or alternative solutions
 * Engage directly with suppliers to negotiate better buying rates
 * Identify and source alternative suppliers or products to maintain competitiveness
 * Analyse pricing trends, win/loss rates, and competitor activity

 * System proficiency: Strong Excel skills and confident working across multiple systems
