Job Title: Maintenance Engineer / Service Engineer
Location: Manchester and the surrounding areas
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday - Minimum of 40 hours per week
Vent Engineering is a specialist in natural and smoke ventilation systems and has been manufacturing, supplying, installing, and commissioning ventilation systems since 1988.
About The Role:
We are seeking experienced maintenance engineers to work at sites between Manchester and the surrounding areas. You will be required to carry out routine reactive and planned maintenance of our life safety smoke control systems.
You will work Monday through Friday and be onsite during standard business hours, which may require early starts to reach some sites. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test, repair, inspect, and maintain natural and mechanical smoke ventilation systems.
2. Document tasks and relevant information in detailed service reports.
3. Liaise with clients to resolve defects and advise on solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
4. Coordinate with the maintenance department to identify sales opportunities.
About You:
We seek individuals who are organized, methodical, and possess strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, effective reporting, and high attention to detail are essential.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
* Fault finding experience.
* Knowledge of electrical circuits within control panels.
* Experience working at heights.
* Full driving license (max 6 points).
* 18th Edition Electrical qualification or equivalent.
* Level 3 (or equivalent) electrical qualification.
* Site experience, ideally with an ECS or CSCS Card.
