Business Development Manager (Defence) London Paddington or Swindon, Wiltshire Permanent | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) £80,000 – £90,000 per annum (DOE) company vehicle / car allowance About Us We’re a leading international civil engineering and construction organisation, delivering complex and high-profile projects across the UK and beyond. Our success is built on the commitment and talent of our people — and we’re now looking for a Business Development Manager to help us grow within the UK Defence Infrastructure and associated construction sectors. The Role As our new Business Development Manager (Defence), you’ll be the driving force behind expanding our presence in the UK defence market. Your key responsibilities will include: Building strong, lasting relationships with both new and existing clients. Identifying, assessing, and developing new opportunities that align with our business strategy. Leading discussions around pipeline development and future prospects in defence construction. Maintaining up-to-date market and competitor intelligence, tracking opportunities in Salesforce (or equivalent). Representing the company with professionalism and confidence at industry meetings, events, and forums. About You You’ll bring a proven track record of success — and a solid understanding of the UK defence sector. We’re looking for someone who has: At least 5 years’ experience in the UK defence environment (Regular or Reserve Armed Forces, or defence-facing public sector experience). A good understanding of UK construction markets, procurement legislation, and MOD procurement processes. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at every level. A valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available). Willingness to undergo a background check. What We Offer We believe great people deserve great rewards.
