Overview
Two Band 6 Occupational Therapist opportunities to join the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team within NHS Grampian’s Combined Child Health service. Opportunities across Grampian with posts at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) and related settings.
Post 1: Band 6 Occupational Therapist — Location/Base: RACH / South Aberdeen City; Hours: Full-time (36 hours/week); Contract: Permanent. 0.4 wte based in RACH and 0.6 wte CDT based in Lochside Academy, Aberdeen. Post 1 is a permanent post offering experience within RACH and the Child Development Team (CDT).
Post 2: Band 6 Occupational Therapist — Location: RACH; Hours: Full-time (36 hours/week); Contract: Fixed Term / Secondment 11 months (Maternity Cover).
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality assessments and therapy programmes for children with a wide range of conditions and complex needs.
* Work across diverse settings including RACH, CDT, homes, schools, and clinics.
* Collaborate within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team based in a modern, purpose-built therapy department.
* Cover CDT caseloads primarily in Aberdeen City / South Aberdeenshire (Post 1); work within a range of clinical specialisms in RACH for Post 2, including in-patient and out-patient work.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver high-quality assessments and therapy programmes for children with a wide range of conditions and complex needs.
* Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment across clinical areas in RACH and associated settings.
* Contribute to a multi-disciplinary team and deliver services in settings such as schools, homes, clinics, and hospital-based departments.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes (driving to rural homes may be required).
* Registered as an Occupational Therapist with HCPC.
* Willingness to work across a range of paediatric settings and clinical specialisms.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. The pay rate will be adjusted accordingly.
