Shop Floor Supervisor Job Notice
We're looking for a highly motivated and proactive Shop Floor Supervisor to join our growing team at VitrineAlu. Based in the North West of England, we specialise in bespoke aluminium windows and doors, bringing light into living for our clients.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our production floor, working closely with the directors. You'll be involved in overseeing daily operations, supporting our skilled fabricators, and upholding our high standards of quality and safety. There's also the potential for you to contribute to installations and service engineering tasks, making this a varied and hands-on opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate daily activities on the shop floor, ensuring efficient production and high-quality output.
* Monitor and maintain strict health and safety protocols across all operations.
* Support and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Manage inventory of materials and supplies to ensure a smooth workflow.
* Identify and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
* Collaborate closely with the directors to achieve company objectives.
* Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet our rigorous specifications.
* Troubleshoot any production issues and implement effective solutions.
* Potentially undertake professional installation of our aluminium window and door systems on-site as required.
* Potentially undertake service engineering tasks, including on-site visits for diagnostics and repairs, as needed.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is essential, preferably in the fenestration industry.
* A strong willingness to learn and develop supervisory skills, working directly with the directors.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
* Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in both production and on-site environments.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, including LogiKal paperwork and bar drawings for manual router operations.
* A proactive approach to work and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of aluminium fabrication processes is highly desirable.
* Experience with systems from Aluprof, Alunet, Kestrel, or Jack would be highly advantageous.
* Flexibility to perform installation and service engineering duties, including potential travel to client sites.
* A full UK driving licence is essential.
