18-24 hours per week, 9 am - 3 pm, working alternate weekends, 2 week rota.

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents living with dementia. By maintaining high standards of hygiene and supporting a homely atmosphere, the housekeeper helps promote residents’ comfort, dignity and sense of security. This role requires a calm, compassionate approach and an understanding of how to work sensitively around individuals with varying needs and routines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clean resident bedrooms: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom cleaning, emptying bins.
2. Clean communal areas: lounges, dining rooms, corridors, activity spaces.
3. Laundry duties: washing, drying, ironing and returning clothes and linens.
4. Infection control: follow cleaning schedules, use appropriate products, maintain hygiene standards.
5. Stock management: monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and laundry items.
6. Report concerns: notify senior staff of maintenance issues or changes in residents’ needs.

Skills & Qualities:

7. Strong attention to detail.
8. Compassionate and calm manner.
9. Ability to work around individual routines and adapt to changing needs.
10. Good communication with care staff and residents.
11. Understanding of dementia-friendly practice

Beechfield Lodge in Pendleton, Salford is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 60 residents.
