Play Practitioner
📍 Location: Norwich (NR16)
💷 Salary: £24,000 – £27,700 per annum (Term Time Role)
⏰ Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only (school calendar)
đźš— Full UK driving licence & vehicle access strongly preferred

Key Health is seeking a dedicated Play Practitioner to join a specialist multidisciplinary team within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school setting. This role supports children and young people with additional needs by using play-based approaches that promote learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive through structured and free play activities. Supporting individual students, small groups, and whole classes, you will help implement targeted interventions under the guidance of the Play Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver play-based interventions to support children’s learning, social skills, and emotional health

*

Assist with assessments and deliver interventions as directed by the Play Therapist

*

Adapt play activities to meet diverse needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties

*

Maintain accurate records of progress using school systems

*

Work collaboratively with therapy teams, educators, and families

*

Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

*

Eligibility to work in the UK (We do not offer sponsorship)

*

Certificate or Diploma in Therapeutic Play (Level 5 equivalent)

*

Evidence of supervision from an accredited Play Therapist

*

Experience working as a Play Practitioner or similar role in SEN or therapeutic settings

*

Strong knowledge of SEN, Autism Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, SEMH, and trauma-informed practice

*

Experience working within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams

Skills & Knowledge:

*

Excellent communication skills with empathy, patience, and tact

*

Ability to maintain professional, accurate records

*

Strong organisational and time management skills

*

Good IT skills for documentation and reporting

*

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people

*

Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
