The Technical Director of Water Quality will be responsible for leading the Toxicology and Microbiology team as part of the Water Science directorate at WRc. This is a full-time (permanent), hybrid role based in Swindon. The role will involve growing WRc's internal capabilities, building a high-performing team and positioning the business as a key leader in public health & water quality consulting and research. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop WRc's Water Quality team, setting the vision, goals, and strategic direction. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand WRc’s services and secure new business. Proposal Development: Leading on proposal development ensure clients requirements are met Technical Leadership of Projects: Oversee the delivery of high-quality, multidisciplinary projects, ensuring client satisfaction. Technical Expertise: Provide thought leadership and technical insights into Public Health, Water Quality, Toxicology, Microbiology, Water Safety Planning or related fields. Person Specification: PhD and/or MSc in Microbiology, Toxicology, Environmental Science or related field Previous proven experience in leadership and line-management roles Member of a relevant professional body and a Chartered Scientist or similar relevant chartership. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop others and teams. Extensive proven experience in Public Health, Water Quality, Toxicology, Microbiology, Water Safety Planning, and/or Water Quality Regulation. Full UK driving licence required.
