Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality and Technical Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering risk assessments and safe systems of work to prevent accidents and ill health within a robust health and safety strategy that encompasses all our activities across the site.
The position requires you to liaise with all site stakeholders to identify issues, collate reports and contribute to monthly Health and Safety meetings and support in delivering health and safety training through the sites QMS system.
Duties
* To operate safely and to encourage a culture of Health and Safety, reporting near misses and potential hazards.
* To operate within good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards and follow all GMP and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Work with all stakeholders in the business to implement H&S management programmes, auditing systems, risk assessments and relevant procedures to embed a robust H&S conscious work environment.
* Investigate all near misses and accidents and track incident metrics to minimise workplace incidents.
* Identify workplace hazards and put controls in place to reduce risk.
* Conduct regular, proactive safety inspections
* To assist in the planning and organizing of occupational health assessments with the Quality and Technical Safety Manager and HR department.
* Attend the monthly H&S Meeting recording all minutes and adding to site action plan.
* Maintain action plan including follow ups to ensure prompt closing out of actions.
* To support the Quality & Safety Technical Manager and deputies when necessary
Qualifications
* Qualification in H&S such as IOSH or NEBOSH
* Experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing
* Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
* Experience of carrying out Risk Assessments
* Experience in dealing with and creating safety data sheets
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Ability to work alone and within a team
* Proactive and able to work without supervision as part of a team or independently and to work on your own initiative.
* Time and results focused with the ability to manage several projects at once, self-motivated.
* Able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems and where necessary make decisions under pressure.
* Approachable and enthusiastic, demonstrates a 'can do approach', continuous improvement, and flexible attitude to work.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to work within safety systems under regulatory requirements.
* Ability to mentor and train staff.
* Experience of implementing improvement plans.
* Impeccable, presentation and organisational skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, excellent numeracy skills and data entry accuracy.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, email and ERP systems.
