Salary: Grade 6 – GBP 33,143 to GBP 36,363 per year
Contractual hours: 37 per week
Your Role
* Assist with the management of the fleet of vehicles, equipment and machinery.
* Liaise with contractors for the booking of vehicle services, MOTs, breakdown recovery, etc.
* Monitor fleet fuel usage and ensure fuel stocks are replenished in a timely manner.
* Assist with the vehicle replacement programme.
* Ensure compliance with legislation including the Commercial Vehicle Operators licence and council policies.
* Appoint and monitor contractors and maintain inspection schedules.
* Carry out inspections of and update procedures as relevant to the Council’s depot to ensure a safe working environment.
* Have knowledge of road transport operations and grounds maintenance and street cleansing equipment.
* Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and council policies.
* Devise and implement procedures to assist the Council in achieving its aims and objectives of its climate change and environmental strategies and policies.
Qualifications
* Desirable: Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Operations.
