We are currently recruiting a Club Manager in Reading to oversee a state-of-the-art fitness centre, equipped with the latest gym technology, premium group exercise classes, and exceptional personal training services.
About the Role
As Club Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the gym, ensuring the highest standards of service, safety, and customer experience. You will lead and inspire a dedicated fitness team, manage rotas, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
Your focus will be on delivering an exceptional 5-star customer experience, driving service excellence, and developing a strong fitness programme that meets the needs of a diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all operational aspects of the gym, including team leadership, rota management, equipment maintenance, and health & safety compliance.
* Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure the highest service standards at all times.
* Oversee finance and control procedures to maintain excellent service performance.
* Develop and motivate your team, supporting their growth and ensuring strong engagement with members.
* Organise external practitioners, wellness treatments, and personal training services.
1. Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience managing a private gym, health club, or well-being facility within a premium environment.
* Strong understanding of 5-star customer service standards.
* Ability to build relationships with a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
* Background in leisure, fitness, or well-being management.
* Confident leader with strong motivational skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Knowledge of health & safety requirements for gyms and swimming pools.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.
* Professional, approachable, and well-presented.
2. Desirable Qualifications
* Level 2 Fitness Instructor (minimum).
* First Aid qualified.
