Business Development Manager

We’re looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team, playing a key role in supporting employer engagement, apprenticeships, and commercial training services.

Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and secure new business opportunities with both levy and non-levy employers.
* Build and manage strong, long-term employer relationships to support ongoing training and development needs.
* Act as a single point of contact for employers, offering tailored advice on apprenticeship reforms, T-Levels, commercial training, and other relevant services.
* Conduct organisational needs analysis to match employer requirements with internal and external training solutions.
* Lead promotional activities including face-to-face visits, cold calling, networking events, social media outreach, and telesales.
* Collaborate with internal curriculum teams to facilitate work placements and employer engagement opportunities.
* Negotiate training contracts, service agreements, and pricing structures in line with college models.
* Maintain detailed records and reporting using CRM systems.
* Represent the organisation at events, conferences, and employer briefings.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a business development, employer engagement, or B2B sales role—preferably in the education or training sector.
* Strong understanding of apprenticeships, government-funded training, and commercial training products.
* Ability to identify employer needs and convert them into successful, long-term partnerships.
* Excellent communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
* Proficient in using CRM systems to manage accounts and track activity.
* Willingness to travel to employer sites and attend events as needed.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.
Qualifications:
* Level 3 qualification (preferably in a sales or business-related subject)
* Level 2 English and Maths
* Health and Safety training experience is desirable
