The Role: We’re looking for some friendly and reliable Personal Care Assistants to support me in my daily life.
I am an 18‑year‑old young woman, a full‑time wheelchair user with complex needs – a rare genetic condition (Glutaric Aciduria Type 1), dystonia, involuntary movements, severe scoliosis, dislocated right hip and coeliac disease. I have good mental capacity and am studying for A level. I am PEG fed (blends), but I also eat orally. I use an AAC device to communicate, do schoolwork and interact with the world.
I enjoy cinema, bowling, boccia (a Paralympic sport), theatre, meeting friends, watching TV and football matches. I'm looking for people who can help me maintain my independence and enjoy these activities.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting and dressing
* Hoisting and manual handling
* PEG tube feeding and oral feeding
* Administering medications
* Managing allergies
* Following emergency protocols (illness)
* Accompanying me to social activities and other outings
* Providing emotional support and companionship
Personal Qualities and Attributes
* Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential
* Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is preferred but not essential
* Ability to drive a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, a good sense of humour and a positive, fun attitude
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable and punctual

You must be able to prove the right to work in the UK. No sponsorship is available.
Hours and Availability
Saturday, Sunday, evenings and school holidays. Start and finish times will be discussed (flexible). Weekdays are available from June 2026.
Pay and Employment
Pay: £17.48 per hour
