Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor

As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals to live as independently as possible. You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, including possible remote assessments.
An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, so you will feel fully equipped for your new role. This role counts towards your clinical hours, helping you maintain your registration.

£37,800 per year, full time, permanent – Keighley, West Yorkshire, England

Responsibilities
* Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, to understand how their challenges and the ways their disability affects daily life.
* Work in an office environment and remotely to complete detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments over the telephone, video, or face-to-face.
* Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making processes.
Requirements
* We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy.
* HCPC registration is required.
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and strong IT competency.
