Overview
Riverdale Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Caretaker who can make a difference and would like to be part of a successful team. The successful applicant will undertake a key role at Riverdale Primary, in ensuring that the school is a safe, clean and pleasant learning environment for our staff, pupils and visitors.
The successful applicant will work under the direction of the School Business Manager and be able to assess, carry out and supervise small building tasks. They will assess situations across school to minimise risks to staff, visitors and pupils. They will be physically able to meet the demands of the job and undertake minor maintenance tasks.

Requirements / Qualifications

* Willing to work as part of a hard-working, dedicated team reporting to the School Business Manager.
* Positive, proactive and an excellent role model.
* Willing to work flexibly to meet the school’s needs.
* Good practical skills for effective operation of site services such as cleaning, porterage, decorating, minor repairs and maintenance.
* Active involvement in school life and alignment with the ethos of the school.

The post is 37 hours per week, whole time with a split shift between 05:30am – 6:00pm. The hours for the split can be negotiated with the successful candidate. A flexible approach is required and there may be additional hours with additional payment.
Accommodation
The successful candidate would have the option to reside in on-site accommodation tied to the Caretaker post. The accommodation is a modern three-bedroom detached bungalow with a garage, drive, grounds and gardens, for which there is a nominal monthly rental fee of £69.64 payable by the post holder to the Trust. All bills are the responsibility of the post holder. The property can be viewed on request. Please indicate interest when applying. Following satisfactory completion of probation, or earlier by mutual agreement, the successful candidate can live on-site in a three-bedroom bungalow, with a subsidised rent.
