Hatton Grange in Hyde is looking for a laundry assistant to join their housekeeping team. The Laundry Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents living with dementia. This position ensures that personal clothing, bedding, and household linens are washed, dried, and returned promptly, supporting residents’ dignity and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect, sort, and label residents’ laundry to prevent mix‑ups and ensure items are returned to the correct person.
2. Wash, dry, iron, and fold clothing, bedding, and towels following infection‑control procedures.
3. Maintain laundry equipment, reporting faults promptly.
4. Keep laundry areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
5. Work closely with care staff to coordinate laundry needs, including urgent items or special requests.
6. Monitor stock levels of detergents and cleaning supplies.
7. Follow all safeguarding, confidentiality, and infection‑prevention policies
Experience and Requirements:
8. Previous laundry or housekeeping experience
9. Knowledge of infection control
10. Ability to carry out manual handling tasks safely.
