To effectively triage incoming calls from our clinical wards and departments with initial first line suggested fixes in collaboration with our qualified engineers if/when required. To log each call onto our database system known as F2 before a dispatch of any engineers in particular if this call is off site.
To co-ordinate contractors to site and monitor and report on their contractual commitment's to DCH with timely importing of their service reports onto our database to aid in KPI reporting for the department.
To be first point of contact for our staff/visitor's coming into our department and advising them of best course of action prior to engineering involvement.
To have a can do attitude and wiliness to learn is paramount in this role in aiding to continually serve our patients. To fully participate in Appraisal's and Continual Professional Development - C.P.D
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the day to day operations of an efficient, effective and comprehensive Clinical Engineering Department at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post is primarily to support the equipment management processes within the department by providing a full range of technical administrative/first line support to it operations. This primarily includes support to the function of the medical equipment management system (F2) to ensure it provides the Trust with the assurance it requires on its management of medical devices e.g. accurate database maintenance, data collection/input, the generation of KPI and compliance reports The post also supports other areas of departmental activity (some of a minor technical nature for which training will be provided in house and via attending supplier training and/or any other training as deemed necessary by the Engineering Manager) that assist and contribute to the management of medical equipment within the Trust.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
* Good level of general education to GCSE standard or equivalent
* NVQ 3 level in a relevant subject (e.g. business administration) or equivalent
* European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equally demonstrable equivalence
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in a senior secretarial or administrative position providing service/project/programme support
* Experience of working with databases, asset management systems or computer systems in a commercial or healthcare environment
* Experience of a customer-facing or service/technical support role
* Experience working within a team and with staff at all levels
Skills & Abilities

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Confident nature with a proactive and constructive approach
* Intermediate to advanced IT skills, with an ability to navigate around various systems and software packages e.g. Microsoft software, the internet and databases
