Sanremo Italian Restaurant in BATH is seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive culinary excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef with strong leadership skills, a passion for authentic Italian cuisine, and a proven ability to manage a busy, high-quality kitchen operation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team, creating a positive and high-performing working environment.

Design, develop, and cost innovative seasonal menus that reflect the Sanremo brand and delight our guests.
*
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, stock control, and ordering.
*
Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, consistency, and hygiene are maintained at all times.
*
Manage kitchen budgets, GP targets, stock rotation, and wastage control to maximise profitability.
*
Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records.
*
Train, mentor, and support junior chefs and kitchen staff to encourage professional development.
*
Ensure compliance with all food safety, HACCP, health & safety, and allergen regulations.
*
Work closely with the General Manager to drive business performance and enhance the guest experience.
*
Lead by example during service, maintaining composure and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
*
Coordinate special events, private dining experiences, and seasonal menu launches.
*
Maintain excellent communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
*
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and any issues are reported promptly.
What We're Looking For
*
Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment.
*
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and modern culinary trends.
*
Proven experience in menu development and kitchen management.
*
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
*
Strong understanding of food costing, stock management, and labour control.
*
Food Safety Level 3 certification (or willingness to obtain).
*
Passion for delivering exceptional food and memorable guest experiences.
