The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a positive, hardworking and calm Teaching Assistant apprentice on a Level 5 apprenticeship standard, to join our dedicated and enthusiastic specialist staff team within an Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) at Willerby Carr Lane Primary. You will be working under supervision with a dedicated team of staff, learning to oversee the complex needs of our ERP children to support them with their communication and interaction needs, and therefore assist them in engaging and succeeding with their learning.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice who will:
* Work closely to implement SEND policy, processes, and procedures. They will advance learning for those learners with SEND.
* Have good relationships with pupils by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs.
* Use specialist knowledge and critical understanding to plan implement, evaluate and adapt activities to advance learning under appropriate supervision for the setting.
* Plan sequences of teaching informed by a critical understanding of well-established principles in relation to curriculum, assessment and pedagogy,
* Advocate for children and young people with SEND in order to support learning and progression.
* Work as part of a team to ensure a safe classroom and outdoor environment, checking materials and personal equipment for defects and implement risk assessments according to school guidelines. This may include cleaning equipment used by pupils and ensuring its accessibility.

The successful Teaching Assistant Apprentice will:
* Work towards and complete the Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, specialising with SEND. The school will support in-house-training, research for assignments, shadowing and mentoring during which you will complete the qualification with an external training provider through East Riding of Yorkshire Council. All the training will be delivered within the school and you will have guidance and support to complete on the job learning throughout the qualification.

* Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative
* Have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills and diverse values
* Have NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or must have at least 2 years experience/knowledge within a Teaching Assistant role
* Ideally have 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English Level 2 certification and/or must be working at a minimum Level 2, as demonstrated in the initial assessments with for English and Maths, which the training provider undertakes with the apprentices before enrolment. If this is not demonstrated, then the apprentice cannot enrol and cannot undertake this post.
