This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
The post-holder will be responsible for the Occupational Therapy clinical leadership and operational management within the Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Teams and Substance Use service. This involves
* Leading, managing and supporting Occupational Therapy staff within the mental health teams and SUS.
* Managing a caseload, including the more complex cases, accepting individual responsibility for those requiring a high degree of clinical expertise.
* Work in conjunction with Mental Health Team Managers and Clinical Lead to deliver strategic and operational management of the Occupational Therapy service.
* Take a key role in leading and developing the role of Occupational Therapy within the Older Adult and Adult Mental Health Teams and within the wider service to improve practice, and work collaboratively, implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines and policies.
* Identify and be actively involved in audit and research activity which will contribute to the development of the role and the Service.
