An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Design Engineer to join our Projects team in a support role, working closely with and supporting our UK Sales Team. This is an office-based role (hybrid working offered) and is principally responsible for the timely production of accurate GF Building Flow Solutions system quotations, designs and estimates, and providing day-to-day technical advice and support for our customers. What will you be doing? Support the UK Sales Team by handling customer enquiries, including answering incoming phone calls and providing timely technical assistance Manage and support the production of commercial and domestic designs, as well as quotations and estimates on a daily basis Support the UK Sales Team by handling customer enquiries, including answering incoming phone calls and providing timely technical assistance Conduct technical concept development and provide quotations requiring in-depth technical knowledge Provide engineering support to clients by producing technical drawings, hydraulic calculations, material lists, and furnishing additional technical details Offer active technical support to sales and marketing teams, ensuring seamless collaboration Manage project schedules and engineering design deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion Communicate with clients regarding technical and timeline aspects of projects and ensure effective collaboration with other departments as required Assist in reviewing, developing, and improving design and estimating tools, processes, procedures, and standards Become proficient in all estimating, design, and support software through required training What will you need? Proven experience in a design and estimating support role, ideally within HVAC or plumbing/heating systems Strong technical understanding of design principles and calculation methods in fluid mechanics and heat transfer Good knowledge of building materials, systems, and product standards Comfortable handling day-to-day customer enquiries (phone and email) as part of a support role Proficiency in MS Office, CAD tools, relevant engineering software, and Salesforce (CRM) Excellent communication skills across a range of internal and external stakeholders A collaborative, open-minded, and team-oriented approach Experience in customer care and service is a plus HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is a plus Generic Responsibility To always comply with the Company’s values when dealing with suppliers, customers and other members of staff To undergo designated training sessions as necessary, which may be out of normal working hours and/or at other establishments, as may be required To always comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act as outlined in GF’s Health and Safety Policy To keep up to date with all Company developments and initiatives This job description may be reviewed and amended, in consultation with the postholder, in the light of any organisational developments within the Company What will you get: Salary: £Competitive Bonus Benefits: 25 days holiday, Health Cash Plan, Life Insurance, up to 5% matching pension Full-time – 40 Hours per week (We operate a 50/50 hybrid working policy) Please note: We do not hold a sponsor license therefore only apply if you are a UK citizen or hold a valid visa.
