Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Rotherham (S25) Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen at a welcoming school in Rotherham (S25), seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in reaching their full potential within a supportive learning environment. About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with additional needs. Responsibilities: • Support students with SEN on a one-to-one and small group basis to enhance learning and engagement. • Assist the class teacher in delivering structured and inclusive lessons. • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using appropriate strategies. • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. • Support students with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect. • Monitor and record student progress in line with individual support plans. • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to support student development. Qualifications: • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is desirable. • Understanding of a range of special educational needs and support strategies. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learners. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a school setting.
