About us Woodlands School is a broad-spectrum special school catering for pupils aged 4 -19 years. They are excited about the day ahead.’ ‘Staff know their pupils well and pupils’ individual needs are well understood and catered for.’ Our school is part of Unity MAT, which is a small, ambitious trust comprising of ourselves and two other similar special schools. Our collaborative working means that we have shared understanding of the challenges and issues that our schools face and can work together to find solutions. The schools are supported by a strong Core Team who provide dedicated support services across the Trust. Job Description To support the Class Teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of children by providing care and supervision to young people with special educational needs, by utilising a good standard of practical knowledge and skills. To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. To support access to learning by undertaking a range of practical duties within the classroom, including physical care of pupils as appropriate. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the management / preparation of resources.
