Specialist Team Manager Leaving Care – Warwickshire County Council
About the Team: Warwickshire’s Separated Children and Leaving Care Team works with care-experienced young people aged 16-25 and children separated from care. The service is county-wide with offices in the North and South of the county, providing support for Separated Young People Seeking and Young People Leaving Care, with a duty rota covering both services.

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Team Manager to join our Leaving Care Service. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who believes that young people leaving care deserve the best possible start in adulthood, especially when it comes to securing safe, stable, and suitable housing.
In this role, you will:
* Provide strategic oversight of our Supported Lodgings and Staying Put schemes.
* Manage and support a small team of experienced professionals, including two Housing Advisors who work directly with care-experienced young people to secure appropriate housing.
* One Personal Advisor responsible for assessing supported lodging providers, presenting them to the panel, and overseeing Staying Put arrangements.
* Other leaving care staff.
* Play a key role in ensuring that our young people are supported through strong multi‑agency partnerships and innovative housing solutions.
Key Requirements:
* Strong interest in housing and understanding the challenges faced by care-experienced young people.
* Confidence in leading and supporting a team.
* Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Department for Education, district and borough councils, and housing providers.
* Proactive, solution-focused mindset to service development and delivery.
* Experience in housing, social care, or youth services is desirable. Transferable skills and a passion for making a difference are welcomed.
* Applicants must possess at least Level 4 qualification in Housing Management regulated by Ofqual or 3 years experience in a relevant discipline.
Additional Information:
Successful applicants will be subject to pre‑engagement checks including a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Applicants must be able to speak and provide advice in written and spoken accurate English to the public. The role requires fluency duty as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
