DEPUTY MANGER FOR UNNACOMPANIED ASYLUM SEEKING CHILDREN EXETER CITY CENTRE HOURS: 37.5 per week Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 depending on qualifications and experience Aims of the role: To achieve positive outcomes for Young People in placement by line managing the Residential Support Workers to deliver an effective service. To support on the growth and development of the organisation as a reputable service provider for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children. To liaise with external professionals across education, social care, health and other services to ensure services for Young Peoples care meet statutory requirements (Oftsed) and best practice standards. Essential Criteria Management / supervisory experience within children's services. Experience of leading, managing and motivating a team, ensuring effective performance management to fulfil organisational objectives. Knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities in relation to Children and Young People in care. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and issues in a political context. Good communication skills and inter-personal skills, including written and presentation skills. Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (social care) or prepared to work towards this qualification, funded by ouselves. Ability to travel across the South West and flexibility to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.
