Hays are working with a leading housing association in London who are committed to providing safe, secure, and well-maintained homes for their residents. Hays are looking for a skilled and proactive Repairs Surveyor to join the Property Services team, focusing on complex disrepair and damp & mould cases across the London housing stock.
Your new role
As a Repairs Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in diagnosing and resolving property issues that significantly impact the housing association residents' quality of life. You'll manage a caseload of disrepair claims and damp & mould reports, ensuring timely, effective, and customer-focused solutions.
What you'll need to succeed
* Conduct thorough property inspections to assess disrepair and damp/mould issues.
* Prepare detailed reports, including schedules of work and cost estimates.
* Liaise with legal teams on disrepair claims and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Oversee contractors and ensure works are completed to a high standard.
* Provide expert advice to residents and internal teams on preventative measures.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous service improvement.
* Proven experience in a similar surveying role, ideally within social housing.
* Strong knowledge of building pathology, especially damp & mould diagnostics.
* Familiarity with disrepair legislation and housing standards.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Surveying or equivalent).
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
