Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Children in Care (CIC) and Looked After Children (LAC) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care, while working collaboratively with families and other agencies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
* Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring that their rights and welfare are prioritized in all decision-making processes.
* Working closely with foster carers, birth families, and other professionals to create and implement care plans that promote the best outcomes for children.
* Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
* A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent).
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Experience in working with children in care or related fields.
* Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
