Our client, a leading provider in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing and overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying duties on rail projects
* Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
* Ensuring that all commercial aspects are managed in line with the required standards and procedures
* Conducting risk assessments and providing advice on contractual claims
* Preparing and evaluating cost estimates and final accounts
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
* Monitoring and controlling project budgets and expenditures
* Providing regular financial reports and updates to project stakeholders
Job Requirements:
* Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the rail industry
* Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices
* Ability to prepare and analyse cost estimates and budgets
* Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
* Relevant surveying degree or equivalent qualification
