Job Description
As an Electrical CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical systems design of motors, generators, electrical drives and switchboards for marine and power generation applications. You will be involved at all stages of the system design process from concept to delivery of equipment and systems. You will work with project managers, technical leads, and teams in power systems and power electronics to deliver projects to customer requirements.
In This Role You Will Focus On
* Integrating electrical systems to meet customer requirements.
* Creating detailed circuit diagrams using E-Plan and electrical equipment 2D layouts using AutoCAD.
* Creating and managing parts and BoMs in Siemens Teamcenter PLM system.
* Acting as a principal point of contact for electrical design during project execution, providing guidance to engineering teams, supporting manufacturing and procurement, and resolving vendor quality issues.
* Participating in factory acceptance testing and supporting quality resolution for customer issues.
* Ensuring 'Design for Manufacture and Assembly' techniques are applied.
* Participating in design reviews to ensure best engineering practices.
Candidate Requirements
* A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or significant experience in electrical design engineering.
* Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design, and testing procedures.
* Proficiency in E-Plan or similar software for circuit diagrams.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings.
* Strong engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
* Sole British citizenship with a valid UK passport.
* Ability to obtain SC security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM software.
* Project management or planning experience.
* Experience with active magnetic bearings.
