Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join a Global Life Science and Specialty Chemicals manufacturing business. The site is undergoing significant investment for the future, including both manufacturing equipment and infrastructure. The role will be based in Staffordshire, working days Monday to Friday with an on-call rota out of hours.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. As the Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a small multi-skilled team, performing routine and preventative maintenance procedures. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical problems with manufacturing processes and supporting equipment and systems.
2. Ensure all activities are completed promptly, including paperwork, in compliance with engineering and production schedules. Maintain high safety, health, and environmental standards.
3. Perform varied day-to-day tasks based on priorities, working closely with maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams.
4. Interact with specialized external contractors to ensure production operates safely and efficiently.
Role Requirements
To succeed as the Maintenance Technician, the following qualifications and experiences are required:
1. Recognized mechanical or electrical engineering qualification at minimum Level 3, such as a Diploma or equivalent.
2. Ideally, experience in a process or chemical manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of steam generation, distribution systems, pressure systems, and safety controls; familiarity with instrumentation for pressure, temperature, and flow is beneficial.
