What Your Day Could Look Like
Every day is different — but you can expect to:
* Greet pupils and help them settle into morning routines
* Support the class teacher during whole‑class teaching
* Work with small groups or 1:1 to reinforce learning
* Help pupils stay focused, engaged, and confident
* Assist with activities such as phonics, reading, maths, and creative tasks
* Support transitions between lessons, breaktimes, and lunch
* Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Celebrate achievements and help pupils overcome challenges
You’ll be a key part of the classroom team, helping create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for all children.
The ALN Needs You May Support
You may work with pupils who have:
* Autism (including social communication needs)
* ADHD
* Dyslexia or dyscalculia
* Speech, language, and communication needs
* Emotional and behavioural needs
* Sensory needs
* Anxiety or low confidence
* Learning delays requiring additional support
You’ll receive CPD training, guidance, and ongoing support to help you feel confident in meeting these needs.
Your Role
* Support the class teacher with daily learning activities
* Work 1:1 or with small groups to help children progress
* Assist with classroom routines, organisation and resources
* Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment
* Support pupils with additional learning needs when required
