Senior Occupational Therapist

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and autonomous HCPC Registered Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well-established Home First Rehabilitation Service in North Staffordshire.
You will be part of the Allied Health Professions (AHP) service providing Occupational Therapy in various settings.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality rehabilitation to patients with a range of physical health conditions including MSK, Stroke, Parkinson's disease, Neurological conditions, Spinal Injuries, Cancer, Post Surgery, General Frailty, Amputees, and others, offering a varied and exciting experience within our service.
We offer excellent support through CPD routes and robust learning plans within the four pillars of AHP practice, including opportunities to represent and promote our service locally, regionally, and nationally, such as UKSF & CSP conferences.
Due to the varied nature of this role, you will be required to travel across the geographical area to meet role demands.

Main duties of the job
The role involves managing a caseload of adults in close liaison with the Home First Team. Many patients will have complex health needs requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and agencies to address care/support issues, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, and improve health and wellbeing.
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
* Be a specialist HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist with detailed professional and clinical knowledge.
* Be highly skilled in assessing complex care/support needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating care packages.
* Have supervisory, training, and leadership responsibilities where appropriate, with some responsibility for team performance and service development.
* Demonstrate initiative and creativity in problem-solving.
* Work with the team leader on delegated management tasks.
* Promote independence and self-management while maintaining safety.
* Enhance functional ability and improve health and wellbeing, including mental health.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Degree in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registered
* Masters level modules
* Evidence of further clinical study
* Apple Accreditation
* Member of BAOT / COT
Experience
* Post qualification courses working with older adults and those with physical disabilities
* Participation in clinical networks or Special Interest Groups
* Current fieldwork/pre-registration training experience
* Experience with standardized assessments and outcome measures
* Negotiation and conflict management skills in clinical settings
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Relevant experience assessing and intervening for a range of disabilities
* Supporting service users, families, and carers
* Teamwork in multidisciplinary environments
* Prioritizing care based on individual needs
* Discharge and transfer procedures
* Flexibility for 7-day working
* Knowledge of NHS standards and guidelines
