Job Summary
An exciting opportunity on the Neonatal Unit at Leighton Hospital. We seek an enthusiastic, driven and experienced Neonatal Nurse with a passion for education to serve as the lead for Neonatal Education and Development.
Unit details: 15 beds – Level 2 Neonatal Unit with 3 Intensive Care cots, 4 High Dependency Cots, 8 Special Care Cots. The post is 33.75 hours per week at Band 7.
Main duties
* Act as specialist in education and practice development within Neonatal education, supporting senior team and implementing evidence‑based care.
* Model high clinical standards, maintain up‑to‑date knowledge, support staff development and review policies and procedures.
* Supervise staff and address performance concerns.
* Plan and organise workload autonomously.
* Lead change management, identify and develop quality improvement initiatives, apply continuous improvement methods.
* Identify staff training needs, maintain training records, and compile reports.
Qualifications
* RSCN/RN Child or Adult with current NMC registration.
* ENB 998/997 or equivalent Mentorship module.
* Intensive Care of the Neonate course (Qualified in Speciality).
Desirable
* Advanced education/teaching module or training (e.g., Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Education).
Knowledge
* Proven experience in practice development.
* Proven experience in staff supervision/management.
* Proven experience in change management.
* Experience of implementing clinical governance.
* Experience developing and monitoring guidelines.
* Experience of audit.

Conditions
Opening: 17 June 2026 closing date. Permanent contract, Part‑time, Job share, Flexible working. Salary £49,387 to £56,515 per annum pro rata.
