Role Overview
We are looking to recruit candidates between consultant and senior levels in our Healthcare Assets and Partnerships team. Your role will be to help WSP's healthcare partners plan and deliver world‑class, future‑ready healthcare facilities, working primarily as part of a team to provide specialist capital project consultancy and related technical advice to clients on estate strategies and capital projects. The position may be based in London or Birmingham with hybrid‑working or office‑based options.
Responsibilities
* Assist healthcare providers in planning and delivering future‑ready healthcare facilities.
* Provide specialist capital project consultancy services and related technical advice to clients on estate strategies and capital projects.
* Support business case development for NHS projects, including primary care business cases, as well as writing and coordinating tender submissions and presentations.
* Develop estate strategies from PCN through NHS Trust to ICA‑wide, plan moves into new hospitals, and provide PPP and FM consultancy support.
* Deliver digital healthcare services and provide healthcare service transformation support.
* Offer project, programme and cost management services, and property management advice.
* Conduct market analysis, activity and capacity modelling, and generate service outcome assessments (SOAs) to support design development.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, build stakeholder relationships, and enjoy increasing autonomy as your confidence grows.
Qualifications
* UK/NHS health sector experience working for a professional services consultancy.
* Proven ability and track record in NHS business case development (ideally including primary care business cases) and primary care healthcare planning.
* Expertise in developing strategies and plans for integrated healthcare hub projects.
* Experience helping to prepare elements of tender submissions and delivering presentations to win new work, plus external and internal networking.
* Degree qualified.
* One or more of: PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, APMP, Better Business Cases Practitioner, MSc Planning Buildings for Health, or other relevant professional qualifications.
* Knowledge of NHS property and capital project policy, processes, guidance and stakeholders.
* Understanding of construction and the property lifecycle.
* Ability to advise clients on best‑practice approaches.
* Strong research, analysis, data interpretation and verbal/written or graphical presentation skills.
* Comfortable facilitating workshops or chairing meetings.
* Highly numerate and comfortable with spreadsheets.
* Ability to prepare project plans and programmes.
* Understanding of risk and risk‑management techniques.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to engage sensitively with various stakeholders.
* Commercially astute with recognition of opportunities and constraints in the delivery of consultancy services.
* Excellent MS Office skills.
