Job Summary
The Senior Information Analyst is a key member of the Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) Operations team, adding value for patients through improving and developing information services across the Trust and the wider health and care system. The role supports the transition from outsourced arrangements to an in‑house delivery model and supports the Informatics Team Lead to deliver timely, accurate information and business intelligence across the organization.
Main Duties
* Support the business intelligence and information function to drive strategic decision‑making for Trust and System objectives across statistics, benchmarking, performance, finance, activity, cost and operational efficiency.
* Guide and enhance operational teams’ understanding of intelligence and insights, supporting informatics leads and principal analysts to collaborate with clinicians and operational teams.
* Support clinicians and managers in using and interpreting information, promoting a culture of good data quality.
* Maintain knowledge of the Trust’s information systems, ensuring changes that impact analyses are incorporated.
* Produce and maintain routine information content using Trust systems to meet NHS requirements and deadlines.
* Liaise with users to understand requirements and advise on appropriate analysis and presentation.
* Work closely with colleagues to triangulate activity, finance and workforce plans.
* Interpret national policy and assess local impacts.
* Support integrated performance reports and communicate across the system, challenging consensus when insights conflict with expected outcomes.
* Utilise BI tools (SQL, Power BI, Qlik Sense, R) and deliver analytics to best‑practice standards.
* Provide analytical support to transformation programmes and pathway initiatives.
Person Specification
Education, Qualification and Training (Essential)
* Degree level education or equivalent.
* Proficient user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
* Commitment to ongoing training and development.
Education, Qualification and Training (Desirable)
* NHS relevant management qualification (e.g., Kings Fund Management course).
Experience (Essential)
* Comprehensive experience of information management, including informatics, BI, analysis, manipulating large data sets.
* High proficiency in BI tools such as SQL, Power BI and R.
* Proven ability to translate business requirements into delivered solutions.
* Experience presenting business cases and managing complex interdependencies.
Experience (Desirable)
* Experience in both Acute and Community settings.
