The Role As one of two Lead Therapy Radiographer's, you will provide clinical, operational and people leadership for the radiotherapy service in Leeds. ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety and service delivery. You’ll be accountable for safety, quality, and performance, while playing a central role in establishing new services, embedding advanced technology, and fostering a positive, resilient, and high-performing multidisciplinary team. What You’ll Do • Lead and develop the radiotherapy service at the Leeds centre, ensuring clinical standards, operational objectives and performance targets are consistently met. • Provide visible clinical leadership across pre treatment and treatment services, including SABR, IGRT and adaptive workflows. • Line manage Senior and Therapy Radiographers, supporting performance, wellbeing, capability and professional development. • Drive a strong clinical governance framework, including audit activity, incident reporting and learning culture. • Work collaboratively with clinical oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists and centre leadership to deliver safe, efficient and innovative services. Contribute to national GenesisCare radiotherapy forums sharing best practice and supporting wider service development initiatives across the network. Training & Development Commitment: Preparing You to Lead To support the safe mobilisation of the Leeds service and advanced radiotherapy technologies, this role includes a comprehensive, structured onboarding and training programme. This is a mandatory element of the role and requires flexibility to travel and stay away from home during the onboarding phase. What this includes: • Onboarding duration: up to 8 months to achieve full-service readiness. • Off-site placements: A minimum of 4 months at established GenesisCare centres (e.g. Oxford, London, Surrey, or other network sites). Placements are delivered in multi-week blocks and require weekday stays away from home. • Travel expectation: Regular national travel and extended periods away from home during training are essential requirements of this role. • Vendor training: o Elekta Unity MR-Linac applications training (2 weeks). o Philips MR systems training (1 week). o CT-adaptive / Elekta EVO and Monaco adaptive workflow training (where applicable). • Structured dosimetry & adaptive planning training: Approximately 115 hours of supervised training covering contouring, plan adaptation, adaptive QA, and clinical decision-making. • Governance & safety training: Including IR(ME)R, MR safety, adaptive workflow governance, and GenesisCare clinical systems. • Active participation in competency assessments and formal clinical sign-off prior to independent practice on advanced platforms. This programme is mandatory and designed to ensure you are fully equipped to lead a safe, resilient and future-focused service. What You’ll Bring • HCPC registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer. • DCR or BSc (Hons) in Therapy Radiography (MSc desirable). • Typically 7 years post qualification experience in radiotherapy. • Strong clinical experience across pre treatment, treatment, SABR, IGRT and clinical governance. • Demonstrable people management and leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop teams. • Willingness to undertake cannulation training (if not already accredited).
