This role is office-based, 5 days a week, in our Chester Operations Centre, operating Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00. It is offered as a one-year internship, with the opportunity to apply for permanent positions or further career opportunities within the business upon successful completion.


Job Overview – Sales & Marketing Intern

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Sales & Marketing Intern to support our business development and marketing functions. This role offers hands-on experience in lead generation, customer outreach, and campaign support, providing valuable exposure to the full sales cycle within a fast-paced commercial environment.


The successful candidate will work closely with our internal field sales team, contributing to outbound marketing activities, enquiry management, and the coordination of company introduction materials. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in sales, marketing, or business development.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

* Manage and monitor multiple lead generation portals to identify potential business opportunities.
* Conduct contact sourcing via email, telephone, and LinkedIn to support outbound prospecting.
* Assist in executing outbound marketing campaigns, including email sequences and follow-up communication.
* Collaborate closely with the internal field sales team to track and qualify enquiries.
* Maintain accurate enquiry and lead tracking through CRM systems or spreadsheets.
* Support the preparation and organisation of company introduction packs, including collating, and dispatching materials.
* Assist with market research, competitor analysis, and data gathering to support strategic decisions.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of lead generation and marketing processes.
* To work positively and communicate professionally across the team, providing an effective contribution to work tasks


Person Specification


Criteria - Education, Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Confident and professional manner when speaking with customers or prospects.
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Interest in sales, marketing, or business development.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.

Desirable:

* Experience using CRM, marketing or sales platforms.
* Familiarity with LinkedIn outreach or lead generation tools.
* Previous internship or work experience in a commercial or marketing role.
