Full Job Description
We are an established UK delivery partner of renewable energy projects (solar panels, wind turbines, BESS systems) and we are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer (graduate to senior level) to join our experienced team.
This role focuses on system design, technical support, troubleshooting and advice to our customers regarding our range of renewable energy projects, as well as design of off-grid solar power systems for new customers in line with their requirements and support going forward.
We accept applications from both experienced engineers and graduates - specific work experience in the solar or renewable energy sector is not required. Work experience with DC electrical circuits or battery systems and / or a relevant engineering or science university degree will be an advantage.

The role is based in our office in Finnieston, Glasgow. Standard working hours 9am-5pm Mon-Fri.
Responsibilities and duties
* Collaborate with suppliers to facilitate the procurement process, including the generation of quotations and the coordination of delivery logistics.
* Perform meticulous cable calculations to ensure strict adherence to the BS 7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards.
* Undertake comprehensive cost estimation for projects, meticulously analysing expenses to provide accurate financial forecasts.
* Conduct thorough site surveys to assess environmental conditions and gather critical data for project planning and design.
* Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure grid connection feasibility and compliance with their requirements.
* Develop intricate electrical designs utilizing industry-standard software such as PVsol, AutoCAD, or equivalent applications, delivering detailed and precise technical documentation.
* Conduct rigorous performance analysis and optimization assessments for photovoltaic (PV) systems, aiming to maximize energy production and operational efficiency.
* Facilitate seamless project coordination by fostering effective communication with customers, team members, stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors, thereby contributing to the successful execution of projects.
* Advising the sales team on the best configuration of solar power systems for their customers;
* Sizing solar charging kits for specific applications and providing wiring diagrams;
* Providing technical support to existing customers in relation to wiring and installation;
* Troubleshooting problems with systems or components;
* Working in close contact with sales advisers to support the sales process;
* Technical content based work (user manuals, technical articles, FAQs etc).
Requirements
* BSc Electrical Engineering as a minimum.
* Knowledge of G98 & G99 (Commercial Solar) applications.
* Prior basic knowledge of low voltage DC electrical circuits with batteries;
* Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email clients);
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
