We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This position will support, specify, and control the processes that the manufacturing operation relies on daily to satisfy customer demand and meet performance objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost/value, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial engineering and/or processing engineering, with a minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience with CNC machining.
This is a locally based position in Lancaster, PA that requires employees to be on site full-time. Please note this position does not offer or include any relocation package.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
* Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchasing equipment.
* Identify manufacturing process improvement opportunities, including automation, to enhance plant operations.
* Design and implement processes and measures to improve workplace safety, production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
* Control and sustain process designs to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
* Lead improvement teams to develop and implement manufacturing and business process improvements.
* Develop effective problem resolution plans using root-cause analysis techniques.
* Create value stream mapping documentation for assembly plant operations.
* Establish and maintain manufacturing process FMEAs to prioritize corrective actions and ensure robust processes.
* Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures and standard work instructions for operational consistency.
* Conduct time studies and analyze work samples to develop labor standards.
* Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
* Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology improvements.
* Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to optimize resource use.
* Operate CNC machinery, including reading/editing G-code, troubleshooting, and testing tooling and programming.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution; 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Strong process improvement experience, especially in cost reduction, continuous flow, assembly, and sheet metal operations.
* Experience with CNC, PLC, and related machining technologies (minimum 3-6 months).
* Proficient in computer literacy and communication skills.
Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic, ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation.
* Reasoning ability to apply common sense and solve problems involving multiple variables.
* Knowledge of database, manufacturing, and word processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities:
The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, talking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision and color differentiation are also required.
The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and other hazards typical of manufacturing settings.
