We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Senior Planning Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay: £30.69 - £43.00 per hour Summary: This role sits within the Planning Policy function and involves leading and supporting a range of planning policy projects and workstreams. You will contribute to the development of evidence-based planning policies, support consultation and engagement activities, and assist in taking policies through to adoption and implementation. Responsibilities: Lead or support planning policy projects and workstreams Undertake research to inform policy development and local plans Prepare planning policy documents, guidance, and evidence reports Support public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities Maintain monitoring systems and analyse planning data Provide policy advice on planning applications and corporate projects Qualifications: Degree in Town Planning or related field (or equivalent) Eligible for Licentiate membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent Essential Requirements: Experience in planning policy work or development management Understanding of the English Planning System Knowledge of planning legislation and policy frameworks Ability to interpret plans, maps, and architectural drawings Strong communication and report writing skills Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
