An opportunity to join our team at the 5-star Spa Retreat just 3 miles from the Market town of Helmsley. Set within our lodge park across rolling parkland are exceptional facilities, grounds and state of the art lodges. Situated within the central facilities is a wild swim pond with full state-of-the-art spa facilities along with restaurant.
Role Overview:
The Sous Chef is responsible for working alongside the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen operations. You will support the Head Chef in menu planning, inventory management, team leadership, and ensuring food quality and safety standards
This role requires strong culinary skills, creativity, and the ability work effectively with the Head Chef and team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
As Sous Chef your responsibilities would include:
* Working as part of a team to deliver a high-quality service across all service times.
* Operating kitchen equipment safely & efficiently
* Maintaining a clean working environment whilst adhering to food safety & compliance
* Support the Head Chef as and when required as well as covering his days off.
* Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards.
* Ensure consistency and excellence in the presentation, taste, and quality of all dishes.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to create a seamless dining experience.
Essential Qualifications:
* Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
* Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and kitchen operations.
* Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.

* Creativity: Strong sense of innovation in menu development.
* Time Management: Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Working Conditions:
* Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
